Jumpin Java Kitchen is a busy coffee house and bistro style restaurant in Bangor, who came to us with an existing name and logo. However, they had no branding, so our job was to build an engaging brand around their existing collateral.
We wanted to inject some life and energy into the brand and communicate Jumpin Java’s food philosophy of fresh food fast based on locally sourced ingredients.
We created a brand that connected with the existing logo but extended it into a typographical conversational style. The mood was one of exploding with energy, engaging customers and telling them about all the delicious food and drink provided by Jumpin Java Kitchen, along with their great offers and extra services.
Jumpin Java Kitchen also has a fully supervised, soft play area for kids, making it the ideal place for parents to have a quiet cup of coffee while the kids literally jump around. We were asked to come up with a sub-brand for this side of the business.
Jumpin Jelly Beans was the result - a fun, kid-friendly identity that fits in with the overall brand and works well across the play area, and other collateral like kids’ meals and party invitations.
